ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE SYMPOSIUM
Society for Structural Integrity
and Life (DIVK) successfully organized in November 2007. the seminar
“Bridges Integrity and Life”, stimulated by recent catastrophic failures of
bridges in U.S.A. and in China.
The participants of this seminar
requested afterwards to consider in more detail the topics presented in the
last contribution, that covered principles of modeling for structure
monitoring during the life-cycle and also new approaches in non-destructive
testing as a base for continuous inspection during structure operation.
Following this request DIVK decide to organize a seminar:
“New Approaches in
Non-Destructive Testing:
Monitoring During Life-Cycle of Structures”

The participants of this seminar
requested afterwards to consider in more detail the topics presented in the
last contribution, that covered principles of modeling for structure monitoring
during the life-cycle and also new approaches in non-destructive testing as a
base for continuous inspection during structure operation. Following this
request DIVK decide to organize a seminar:
“New Approaches in
Non-Destructive Testing:
Monitoring During Life-Cycle of Structures”
with the accent to
the bridges in order to prevent their failures.
Next topics will
be encouraged at the seminar:
1. Inspection
and maintenace of bridges in service
2. The
application of modeling approached standards to bridges
3.
Non-destructive testing as a base for continuous inspection
4. Analysis
of testing results for structural integrity and life assessment
It is expected no more
than 25 participants and up to 12 contributions, which will be presented in two
days symposium, followed by open discussion and consideration. Symposium
organizers plan to invite several experts in the field to present the
contributions and the view on specified problem. They will serve also as the
moderators of discussion. In addition, the organizers encourage prospective
participants to offer their contribution, which can be included in the symposium
program, or just to enrol for the symposium.
The symposium will be
held in Belgrade. Proposed term is between
24th February and 10th March.
The event can be organized on 28-29th of February, or on 9-10th
of March, according to the convenience of most participants.
Having in mind short
time, early enrolment will be appreciated in order to prepare the program before
15th February.
